Tumtum & Nutmeg: Adventures Beyond Nutmeg Hall by Emily Bearn is a beautiful little collection of three stories perfect for advancing readers between the ages of 8 and 12 years old.

Premiering from Little Brown April 1, Tumtum & Nutmeg is a great three-for-one hardback summer read that will keep (girls especially) busy with the further adventures of the two cute little mice who live deep instead the broom cupboard of Rose Cottage.

Arthur and Lucy are the two humans Tumtum & Nutmeg secretly look after during their many adventures together.

(Thank God for all those mice of the world looking after all our children, eh?)

In this three-story volume Tumtum & Nutmeg find themselves hard at work after the evil Aunt Ivy, a squeamish school teacher named Miss Short, and pirating pond rats threaten the safety of Arthur and Lucy. Tumtum & Nutmeg will stop at nothing to keep their special human friends safe.

Now, if you live in a rural area like I have in my life, and have had a nasty little problem or two with mice running around inside the old wall insulation, Tumtum & Nutmeg may come across a little more like Disgusting & Oh-My-Lord-There’s-Another-One!

But, I guess that’s what differentiates me – a mean ol’ mom - from the beautiful creative – and more accepting - minds of children.

Of course, in my case it was the children who never remembered to take out the trash, and that single act alone might have encouraged the little mice world with which I was at constant battle to continue proliferation elsewhere.

Regardless, I remember being a kid and loving James and the Giant Peach. When you’re a child there’s something wonderful about hating the mean ol’ relatives in life and loving the cute little bugs running around on the floor.

Humm. That sounds a little backwards.

Oh well, what do I know? I’m just a mean ol’ mom now anyway.
Try Tumtum & Nutmeg for your kid’s summer reading list. It’s adorable. It’s entertaining and it’s much better than Hannah Montana reruns!

That's something for which I am absolutely sure.

MLovato.I have been sparring with stephenwinkler for quite awhile and his bark is worse than his bite.He actually defended Barbara Boxers disgraceful behavior toward a Brigadier General even though he pretends to respect Sen.John MCain because MCain is a hero.So you can see his hippocracy. My question to you is very sincere. How do you manage to read as many books as you do and have the time to write reviews?I try to read 2-3 books a week and have been only able to write 1 review for you"Everest book reviews"along time ago. I've read several more book's yet can't keep up review wise. What's your secret.I am reading 3 book's right now that your readers would enjoy a review on but feel like an underachiever if my review comes after yours.Your killing me on the review thing.Help me.Everest.

Boxer is not a great senator.I have tried to find something of true signifigence that she has accomplished and I can't find one.She is a very hateful person who gives men like Timothy Mcveigh and other domestic terrorist the proof they need that some American politicians are corrupt and disloyal to our troops.Boxer is a loser and will always be a loser.Babs is the best Senator our enemies have. She is the one who think's she's a God.SW,if you truly think that Sen.Mcain is a hero, then why do you insult him by defending Babs conduct toward this General?Babs is a disgrace and a lousy role model to young women who may be considering a carreeer in politics.SW as someone who has never had the courage to serve our country in uniform you are sure fast to berate them.Very cowardly.

Stephen, I'm really sorry I offended you. I don't have anything against Hannah Montana other than I'm tired of hearing about it. My kids love it. They eat it up - for several years now. All I meant was that I -as a parent - was burned out on her. Nothing else. Honestly. Michelle Lovato

MLovato, you have to understand Stephen is not a very masculine man.Matter of fact he is a girlie man to a tee.He will go into the shower and have a good cry and it will be over with. Please keep up the good work,we all enjoy your reviews.
