“Me, Me, Me, Me" If you’re a singer you will likely sing this while warming up, prior to singing to an audience or during rehearsals. Although most of us don’t aspire to singing to the masses, we wake up each morning (myself included) in the Santa Clarita Valley or “SCV as many of us know it, and sing too. Imagine this thunderous sound as thousands of us in this valley start each morning off by singing this tune “Me, Me, Me, Me in the SCV"
The only difference between a singer and our chorus, is the singer is warming up to sing to us. We benefit from hearing their god given talent and it’s directed to you (The audience) Now imagine if singers just stood in front of the mirror and sang to themselves. No one would share the joy or benefit from this but the person in front of the mirror.
Many of us start out each day tuning into our favorite station W.I.I. F.M. “What’s In It For Me". The first song we listen to is on our top ten list, and it’s entitled “It’s all about me, followed by “What have you done for me lately, followed by “What’s that have to do with me" and so on, and so on. We play these songs each day in our heads as we go out into the world.
Imagine if we all had a Coom-bye-ya moment starting today, around the SCV community campfire. And changed one word in our mental playlist right now. To say the word “YOU" Instead of tuning into “It’s all about me", you change the station to “it’s all about you", or maybe instead of “what have you done for me lately", you played “What have I done for you lately" Get my drift.
One simple word like “You" can make all the difference! Dr Wayne W. Dyer put it like this “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" A simple saying, but so profound. So if we run into each other on our paths here in the SCV valley know one thing is true, that I’ll be looking out for you.
