Here is my routine which is done daily. Never a break. I just need to remember how hard I work during the times in which I engage in "Road work".
I am not sure if you have been near the intersection of Newhall Ranch Road and Copperhill? There is a fella that has a few people running up and down that section of Roadway with Huge backpacks, barbells, and other strange objects. He is yelling and instruction all the time. He is their motivation, this is Warrior Fitness.
Is this your style? I am a huge advocate of Hindu Squats and Hindu Pushups, I love the burn I feel from High yield callisthenic exercises. Check out www.CombatConditioning.com. Back after my second Police Motorcycle Crash when I destroyed my left knee, I needed some type of therapy and help getting it back to better than it was. All of the doctors told that I should not even dare to attempt this form of high repetitive exercise. But since when Do I listen. Currently it takes me about 25 minutes to crank out 500. A goal of 14 minutes for the same amount is my target.
Roadwork is walking with a purpose and working out along the way, keeping your heart rate up in the “zone. You can also switch it out with a park workout including HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), such as sprinting for 30 seconds, walking for 30 seconds etc… Be careful with this one, but talk about causing the lungs to burn. It is interesting what is hacked up after doing this for the first few times.
There are a lot of good programs out there, any are good that get you up and out. Keep the motivation and find that pushes you. We need to break away from being so sedentary. We need to move when we can and do it often.
Santa Clarita Valley is a place that is great for the Outdoor Sportsperson.
