Be Very Afraid!!

A DHS publication discusses the suggestion that the government use emergency medical service personnel —paramedics, EMTs, and first responders—as "intelligence sensors." The paper also calls EMS personnel potential "information collectors" and a variety of other euphemisms for what might seem to mean unsworn deputy.

The above is concerning to me as I have been in the fire/ems field for 20 years and to see something like this is very disturbing. I got into this field to help the sick and injured and now the Government is asking me to spy on my fellow Americans. This goes too far and I flatly refuse to participate in this witch hunt because of outdated or fabricated intelligence.

What is scarier is that the very people who trust us to render aid may not not call 911 for fear of being turned in. EMT's, Paramedics, and Firefighters are not trained in Law Enforcement and due to that fact they might report someone for merely looking like a terrorist without having any kind of probable cause.

Americans and pre-hospital care providers need to stand up and say no more!!

That is my .02 cents
