Going on vacation? Not adding this to your "to do" list before you leave could cost you! I am almost certain that this item is not on your list of things you need to do prior to leaving on your next vacation destination.
We all make checklists or mental notes prior to departing to our vacation destination. Did you bring the tickets? check, how about the camera?, check, did you lock the door, set the alarm? check, did you shut off your water line to the washer? (Record scratching noise) what?, why would that be on my list?
Imagine for a moment that you leave for say just a week and your water line to the washer breaks (rubber hoses that are under water pressure can wear over time) and sometimes spring a leak. You then have water pouring out like a fire hose on to your carpets, your furniture, and seeping into your walls for a whole week! If your laundry room is upstairs than you can only imagine how that could compound things? This could be going on all week while you are away basking in the sun without a care in the world.
You then come home to a whole new set of problems on top of those you left to forget about in the first place!
Leave the water back at the lake or ocean paradise. One way to avoid this potential disaster is to turn the cold and hot water valves off in the laundry room that connect to the washer prior to leaving on your vacation getaway. That could help you from possibly getting "all wet"
Has this happened to you, How did you deal with it?
May the source be with you
