I'm sick-and-tired of listening to conservative commentators whining about President Reagan's comments on liberty and tyranny. Of course, these broadcast point out, that President Obama is silent on Iran, while President Reagan was vocal on Poland.
President Reagan was rhetoric just like President Obama. As president, President Carter did nothing about Iran. President Reagan did worst. We all know about the Iran-Contra scandal, because Reagan believed that the Contras were a more dangerous threat to the security of the United States, than the regime in Iran. The Contras did not attack our embassy nor keep our citizens as hostages; they never called us "the Great Satan." Yet, if Reagan would have eliminated the regime in Iran as President Nixon eliminated Allende in Chile, then we would not be in this mess today. So Reagan was high on rhetoric, but short on action.
Instead of whining about Obama's silence, why not suggest that the President read some fine books that might teach him how to do his job? That would be the patriotic thing to do. That would be the right thing to do.
Stephen Winkler always knows the right thing to do. In accordance with my patriotic duty, I will now submit a list of books that President Obama must read, if he wants to be a great president:
(1) "In the Arena" by Richard Nixon
(2) "Beyond Peace" by Richard Nixon
(3) "Leaders" by Richard Nixon
Always remember, when everything is all said and done, then it is not about Reagan versus Obama; it always comes down to this simple truth and fact: NIXON'S THE ONE!

SW.You should feel pity for the Moron's who act like they would do anything different with Iran than what Pres.Obama is doing now.Iran poses no threat to our country, just like Iraq posed no threat to us when Bush still decided to invade her.Sw.You should be enjoying the new Nixon tapes that have just been released.Everest.

Hillary has my vote.Iranians are'nt stupid as we can see by the protest of the presidential election.Even if Iran had nukes they are not as crazy as the Pakistani's. Iran knows we would make them a glass parking lot if they used them against us or our allies. So they deny the Holocause, who cares?I think people thru out the world are sick of hearing about the holocause.Israel has nukes and can take care of herself.Israel exist,so why do we care if some moron denies their existance?I like Sarah Palin but she is about as qualified for president as Oprah. She should stick to being governor of Alaska. One thing about GOV.Palin though, when she was on saturday night live, she is much better looking than Tina Fey.

You must be the only person on the planet that does'nt know Israel has nukes, either that or your in serious denial. And why do I give a crap what LA school teachers think of me,they are'nt exactly the best our country has to offer.50 million people were killed in WWII,so why do the jews feel they have the patent on human suffering.I never said I did'nt care about the holocause I just stated that Israel can't use it to guilt the world into supporting her any longer.Look at the reaction after Pres.Obama's speech on Israel and the Palestinians. You did'nt hear our country or any other country's outcry over our Pres. saying that Israel has to play by the rules or she can't count on our support any longer.Just remember one of the reasons we were hit on 9-11 was because of our blind support of Israel. But now Americans are saying enough is enough and good riddance.

The only problem with voting Republican is they cant seem to be faithful to their wives.Honestly SW,the Republican party is a dead horse.I would feel safer on the Titanic than being a Republican.Every step forward, the REPS.take three steps back.A miracle could'nt save the REPS. now,and a miracle is what it is going to take.I left the REPS. and became an Independent.Hopefully more REPS.will follow.I could never be a Democrat as I am not feminine enough. They are still the party of the girlie men, hopefully some of them will come to the Independent party to remasculinize themselves.

I'm with MS.Heidt,a moderate who is sick of the two party system. Some one will have to fill the void now that the Republican party is basically obsolete and on self destruct mode.I dont see why we cant have a party that takes the best of both partys but are'nt tied down to either.Hopefully this will be the wave of the future.

Iran won't attack us for the same reason the Soviets did'nt attack us,the repercussions.Iran attacked our embassy not our native soil. And that was because Carter[Democrat]failed to evacuate our embassy because like most Democrats they are naive when it comes to national security. So what if Iran attacks Israel, she can take care of herself. It's not our problem!Mexico is the #1 threat to our national security. We should nuke her now and get it over with.As for REPS and DEMS,they are both failures as a party.Iran had nothing to do with 9-11.Saudi Arabia and Usama funded that operation. It amazes me how men like you SW,who dont have the courage to serve our country always are willing to put someone elses child in harms way, proving that Democrats are a cowardly party not willing to fight for whats right.Hitler would have loved you guys.

Your mistress needs to massage your brain. When I say nuke I mean use of conventional weapons. You are a coward SW,if you always talk tough about fighting Iran yet want to ride a desk. You are a true Democrat in the Obama sense in every way.Pray to him as he is your God.As for Israel, the whole world is turning their backs on her as she is like the relative that comes to live with you and never leaves, eats all your food, spends all your $ and loves your wife. The days of Holocause guilt are over and Israel knows it thanks to our great Pres.Obama who made Netenyahu squirm like a little girl.Israel is all alone and the USA is better off for it.God Bless Obama, your PRES. SW.

Sounds like strong arm robbery to me.Look what union's did for the automotive industry.I dont feel sorry for the automotive employees what so ever. Why should anyone make $29 an hour for a job a monkey can do?The Japanese auto industry did'nt cause the downfall of the USA auto Industry, they did it themselves. Now they beg for more $,ripping off the American taxpayers.Americans have gotten lazy, unprofessional and have ego's that their product's can't back up.My next vehicle will be a Toyota.

First of all, I don't think I support either party in Iran, however, I do support the idea of Freedom, just as we shook off Englands rule of us in the 1700s, so I believe that we should have supported the idea of Freedom, with that said, the President should have said that we as a people support the people of Iran to be self governed.

He fell very short and didn't say much at all.

For what it's worth.

breacher commented on Monday, Jul 06, 2009 at 17:34 PM

SW and I will never agree on Iran, but your imput allows a well informed source of info. The USA should always support the idea of freedom as you say,but I don't want to see the same mistakes now as we did with the Shaw of Iran.We are spread thin with our military and do not want to stir up a hornet's nest with Iran.29 years ago,we would not even fathom the idea of such large protest against the repressive regime in Iran.Hopefully the Iranian people can bring about change without US intervention which could have a Blowback effect.Time will tell.
