I agree, this paper is going downhill. Sports used to be so good, now it's garbage. I got the paper because of sports, now there's no reason to.
We do appreciate your concern and I would like to personally answer a couple of your complaints. First we did not leave John Boston, John Boston left us. He resigned earlier this year to pursue other interests. John is a great guy and we wish him well. Second, for print TV guides, times are changing. We are the only newspaper in Los Angeles County that still even has a television listings book. Others have gotten rid of it entirely. Even TV Guide magazine no longer has listings. With satellite and cable television taking a bigger piece of the pie each year, not many of our readers need or want old style print listings. Because of economics we have had to change the format and now have incorporated them into Friday's Escape entertainment section. As far as MLB stats, we have had some staffing changes in Sports and we will look into bringing back the MLB stats in the future.
We are in between Sports Editors and have two brand new sports writers. We know how important Sports is to this newspaper and the SCV and we have some great plans for the future. Stay tuned...

Yes I know John B left us to pursue other venues. I like many other miss him terribly. The Signal has handed us many stories about what the paper is going through etc. Ok, change happens, but you have made our local paper into the DAILY NEWS!! Honestly I want to hear about our local kids who get A's & B's and help people out, or they kids that got bad grades (like me), got into troulbe, saw the light ansd are doing good things. Lets focus on our Terrible gang issues in Canyon Country,Canyon High kids racing up our roads. I care about my SCV and the exciting happenings here!!!!!!
In your headlines you keep referring to the "Hart" teacher or "Hart" counselor, or "Hart" employee accused of improper conduct. By doing so, you are inferring that the employee is from Hart High School, not the William S. Hart High School District. Saugus High and Saugus Union School District would have the same issue. How about "Teacher Accused of Misconduct". That would attract everyone to read the article to find out the "who and what".
Trackmom, this is a good observation. We of course were referring to the district. If it appears misleading we will review our policy.
