Maybe I missed something. How do you go from not having a useable jacuzzi and fire pit to losing your apartment?.
If my funding had been reduced by going from a full time to a part time job I really wouldn't care about whether the jacuzzi, fire pit or dishwasher worked. It seems to me your edison bill would be a liitle less without a dishwasher. I do have compassion for everyone who has fallen under hard times, however I really don't think that blaming your landlord will help your situation. Maybe you should focus on necessities and not luxuries. You found wonderful resources here in Santa Clarita who focused on your neccessities, but I don't think you'll find any who will focus on your luxuries unless you pay for them yourself. Good luck .
No what I forgot to mention is that he has not tried to fix them
so when we asked for him to fix or deduct from the rent he served me with a 3 day notices to pay rent or quit. ( becauz I told him fix or I don't pay the may's rent ) I called LAHA and they told me we don't handle santa clarita , I also called 4 law offices but they only help the landlord. for $2200 a month (AM I IN THE WRONG?????)
Those 3 thing are what got the place rented
I understand your frustration it's tough times now for alot of people. You didn't say if you had the money for Mays rent or not. You still have to pay rent even if the repairs haven't been made, you cannot withhold rent while waiting for repairs to be made. Since you've asked the Landlord to repair the Dishwasher and he hasn't in a timely manner you can pay and have it fixed yourself and deduct the cost of the repair from the rent with a copy of the receipt. If the Jacuzzi and fire pit are in a common area you might want to consult a Realestate Agent on what if anything can be done. It sounds like you may have been able to afford $2200 a month at one time, have you thought about looking for more affordable housing? At least until your financial situation stabilizes.
I agree...down size when things are rough. With just one child you could make do with a one bedroom place without all the frills. Everyone is tightening thiers belts these days. As the prior blogger wrote, you still have to pay the rent...then go after the landlord. Good Luck and God Bless
