This was a great post and question! I had a lot to say, so I figured I'd reply with my own post: http://community.the-signal.com/blogs...
:)
My goal is to lose 40 lbs -which is unrealistic in 9 weeks. So I am hoping for 20 lbs which is now looking unrealistic. I have cut way down on breads, watching what I eat and still have only lost about 1/2 pound.. So I am trying to really get to the gym. Do a walk- jog route that Sharlene showed me.
As for a 9 week fad - I hope not.. I am thinking of joining a gym after the 9 weeks as I know I would not push myself without outside help..and I still want to lose that 40 lbs over time.
Good luck and hope to see you at the gym...
Very good blog! For some of us it has left us with questions we need to start thinking about considering that this contest is almost half over. I do know for a fact that I am in this for good! I started my own diet in January, lost 44 lbs. on my own, even joined a gym. This contest has re motivated me. When I hit my plateau a few months ago I thought that was as far as I was going to go. Started eating the wrong foods, drinking the diet sodas I had recently eliminated from my diet. I wasn't happy. This contest came along and has reopened my eyes once again. Once the contest is over I am afraid I will loose Results Fitness. The trainers and staff are so wonderful and kind to all of us. That helps with weight loss.I will have my old gym to continue on with. And I am very happy with them. =)
If I could I would do both. But financially that won't work for me. But I do know I want to feel like this daily! It's the best medicine for me. I will miss the all the friends I made and everyone at the gym coaching me along! Thanks for the blog, good to think about this before this ends.
Diane this was a GREAT blog. So many true thoughts and feelings. I know you will be succesful in your goals. I was right there along side you working out at 5:45 am yesterday and I see how much you put into your workouts! I have to tell myself EVERYDAY I did not put the weight on in a few days, weeks or months and I can't take it off in that amount of time either. It is a DAILY struggle but once we accept this challenge and know that we can have small pleasures now and then but must spend the majority of our time on track to continue to lose or simply to maintain what we have lost, the better off we will feel and the less "obsessing" we will do. Just focus on YOU. You are worth it and deserve it.
WOW GUYS I LOVE ALL THE POSITIVE FEEDBACKS!!! I do believe we are all going to accomplish all that we have set out for!! KEEP UP ALL THE HARD WORK!!
