Just a note to the above blog.....It's the criminal not the weapon. We need firm truth in sentencing not time off for good behavior (what else can they do) concerning criminals that use ANY weapon during a crime. If we have crowded prisons, use empty warehouses for non violent population, etc. and bring back the work farms and chain gangs. Prison is not suppose to be fun or comfortable....just livable.

Well at least they got this one right. My only concern was barely by one vote. However a win is a win and your right "We the people" prevailed. God Bless America and those who protect her!

The Progressive Party platform of 1912 called for a national election to overturn unpopular Supreme Court decisions. The Court does not reflect the will of the people.

Many people that have committed their first crime with a gun were not criminals until they shot someone.

Gun gives you a false sense of security. If I shoot someone, I have to prove that it was in self defense or do time in prison. Many people are serving time in prison, because they have used their gun in self defense, but do not have the funds for an adequate legal defense. Incidentally, how am I going to defend myself from the unlawful death lawsuits? The criminal or his family may collect more from me through the civil courts, then if I just allowed him or her to rob me.

Gun ownership allows children to get hold of guns, because their parents are careless. It only takes a moment in time and then, tragedy.

Gun ownership also gives law-abiding citizens an opportunity to use it in the heat of anger.

I have a simply solution to control crime. Make all felonies a capital crime. Execute all felons and make long term prison terms for minor offenses.

I would also have two new constitutional amendments to repeal the second and the eighth amendments. Allow the police to do their job on the street. No more nonsense about cruel and unusual punishment. The criminals do not consider what is cruel to their victims. Why should you consider what is cruel to them?
