I Can't Believe this?? What Hypocrites.. Teachers. In the "No on Prop 8 commercials", they claim that teachers will not be teaching about homosexuality in class. (As was done in a Mass. Kindergarten class- See Below) Don't tell me that with all your financial support you'll ignore the subject once it's passed. Who is Fooling who??? Why shouldn't you? You outwardly support it with your limited or unlimited?! funds. It's a "God" given right, you say.. Granted by a judge, aka "God." CA addressed the issue already. Majority rules.. 60/40. You just won't stop.
Teachers insist on higher salaries from who?.. The taxpayer. Always begging for supplies on a weekly basis! More school supplies- reams and reams of copy paper, pencils, craft materials, tissue, treats. Everything! Who pays you'all?? Oh yeah, US!! :( Mother of 3, GATE Students plus a Kindergartener.. Who won't learn about gay marriage in Kindergarten, as was the case in Mass.- the video link posted here. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Teacher's Union Donates $1 million to Oppose Proposition 8
(And The teachers union had already contributed $250,000 to the campaign this summer.)
The gift from the California Teachers Assn. Comes as an internal poll by opponents of the initiative to ban gay marriage reveals that the campaign has not raised as much as supporters.

The California Teachers Assn. Donated $1 million this week to defeat a ballot initiative seeking to ban same-sex marriage in California, joining the ranks of wealthy gay rights activists and Hollywood politicos as one of the major donors to the campaign.
"For us, it's a civil rights issue," said the association's President David Sanchez. "We don't believe people should be treated differently."
The teachers union also takes issue with advertisements by backers of Proposition 8 suggesting that the measure would stop children from being taught about gay marriage in schools. Union leaders echoed complaints by the No on 8 campaign that the ads are misleading because California law already prohibits teaching any child health issues without parental consent.
But the Yes on 8 campaign responded that the ads show what happened in Massachusetts, where gay marriage is legal and taught to second graders in public schools after a court battle in which parents lost the right to opt their children out of the lessons.
Until now, The Largest Donation the No on 8 campaign had received from a labor union was $500,000 from the Service Employees International Union.
"We're incredibly proud of the working men and women in California who are supporting the No on 8 campaign," said spokeswoman Ali Bay.
Supporters of the proposition said the teachers union did not speak for all of its members on the issue of gay marriage.
"I think the California Teachers Assn. Is well-known to be a political group, and it's not the first time it has not represented the true voice of its members," said Sonja Eddings Brown, spokeswoman for Protect Marriage California, the measure's backer.
She said she agreed that the issue is civil rights -- not those of gay couples, but rather those of children to be raised by a mother and a father.
The $1-million donation comes on the heels of an internal poll by opponents of Proposition 8 showing that the campaign to defeat the measure was in trouble. The teachers union had already contributed $250,000 to the campaign this summer.
Sanchez said the donations were "a pittance" compared with what religious groups have donated to proponents of the initiative.
Yes on 8 reported it had raised $25.4 million as of two weeks ago, Eddings said, but contributions have continued rolling in since then. The group's major donors have been religious groups and their members. The Knights of Columbus, for instance, has donated $1 million.
The No on 8 campaign stepped up fundraising efforts after realizing that it was $10 million behind backers of the initiative, with only about $15 million in donations as of Sept. 30, Bay said. It has since raised an additional $5 million, she said.

If we are to entrust our kids to these teachers, then I truly fear for our state's educational system and our childrens' futures. How dumb do they think we are?? Their Actions speak much louder than their words!!

We the People of CA ALL need to rally 'round Prop. 8 NOW for the "civil rights" of our innocent children.
I am a public high school Health teacher who is already too familiar with the NEW LAWS CA has forced me and others to have to deal with when it comes to an already difficult subject, SEX ED.
The CA ED CODE was specifically changed so that "sexual orientation" MUST be treated like it is a "civil right" just like race, gender, and religion. This is deliberate deception on the part of homosexual activists backed by big bucks (i.e. hollyweird celebrities).
In my blog and the one IMAMOM2 (NO on Prop. 8 person) posted, I asked why CA is ONLY concerned about the "homosexual" "sexual orientation" since that is all they addressed when those 4 elitist justices violated our CA Constitution by trumping Prop. 22 via "judicial review" (legislating from the bench),which is NOT constitutional!
Noone has answered my question yet!
Why did CA deliberately do this bogus BACK DOOR bench move only months BEFORE the Nov. election when they knew full well Prop. 8 would be on the ballot where this issue should have been put to an initiative amendment vote by the people?
I believe the reasons are rather obvious. The homosexual activists knew they had sympathetic souls in these 4 activist justices & if they could by hook and by crook get the justices to make it sound legal like they did in MASS. where "same-sex marriage" is still illegal BTW, then they could twist the TRUTH even more to make it sound like a "fundamentally guaranteed right" to men and women identifying themselves only by their sexual perversion, homosexuality, was somehow being denied them or taken away!
That's why! It's called playing the VICTIM! Manipulating the masses of ignorant and easily duped voters in liberal CA!
They even stacked the deck even further in their favor by committing another violation of our CA Constitution by getting our liberal Attorney General Brown & lame Sec. of State, Debra Bowen to "change" the wording of Prop. 8 AFTER ALL the signatures had been collected & it had been successfully submitted for the CA ballot! That is NOT constitutional! The AG is ONLY allowed to "change" the wording of an initiative or proposition BEFORE it goes to the people to collect signatures!
All the lawsuits have failed challenging such "unconstitutional" actions, and so even Prop. 8 as approved by us, the voters who got it on the ballot, will NOT even be fairly represented in an UNbiased manner as it should be.
Talk about DIRTY POOL and UNDERHANDED politics!
These people opposing Prop. 8 have stooped to every unscrupulous means at their disposal and are pulling out every stop to STOP Prop. 8 from passing.
This is a WAR for our children's "civil rights!"

Vote No on Prop 8, because of the lies. For example, it is a lie that teachers will start teaching about homosexuality. By state law, teachers must teach the California State Standards of Instruction. We are not allowed to teach outside of it. For example, one time I got in trouble for mentioning one of the battles of World War II. The California Content Standards only allow you to teach the causes and consequences of the war, not the battles.
Now, some teachers are teaching about homosexuality, proposition or no proposition. Just like they teaching the students that McCain will send them to Iraq or send their parents back to Mexico. If nobody complains, then nothing will change.
Who do you hate-mongers think you are to vote on what legal contracts somebody else can enter into? Marriage is a legal contract. Any 2 adults should be able to enter into such a contract together regardless of sex.
By the way, this is against the US constitution. "Seperate but equal" was ruled unconstitutional. The ability of whites to marry non-whites was ruled unconstitutional. You are wasting your time and energy by supporting Prop 8.

As I stated in my first post w/in this blog, as well as w/in my own, and IMAMOM2's blog under the general category, the CA Supreme Court is culpable of what is truly UNconstitutional; namely: "judicial review" whereby "4" elitist justices usurped the will of We the People (over 4,000,000 CA voters who voted in Prop. 22 in 2000) and force yet another unnecessary vote at the ballot box with Prop. 8!
The only thing that outstrips your inability to understand Constitutional law is your inimical stance towards Prop. 8.
Just because "race, gender, and religion" were granted "separate, but equal" status by virtue of their being classified "civil rights" does NOT guarantee "sexual orientation" any such guarantee! Totally preposterous!
Whose "sexual orientation" did CA guarantee in May? Everyones? NO! Just "homosexual" and NO other! Read the 3 dissenting justices opinions and find out why!
Again, the CA Supreme Court's "4" activist justices ONLY pledged their biased support for "homosexual" "sexual orientation" in May. Why did they NOT mention any other "sexual orientation" groups such as those who claim "3" or "4" people should be able to get married, or bigamists or polygamists who likewise assert they too should be able to legally get married. The "homosexual" agenda is backed by big bucks who want to REDEFINE MARRIAGE and REWRITE our CONSTITUTIONS just like they have been doing with our CA ED CODE to make "sexual orientation" a "civil right" tantamount to RACE, GENDER, and RELIGION.
This is a CIVIL RIGHT issue alright, but NOT about "sexual orientation." Rather, it is about the abrogation of religious freedom and parental rights to defend and protect their children as they see fit under the already guaranteed provisions and protections of the bill of rights, etc.
Please SHOW ME SCV123 the excerpt from either the FEDERAL or CA Constitutions that prove "sexual orientation" deserves the same "separate but equal" protection as true civil rights like GENDER, RACE, & RELIGION!

I happen to be a CA public H.S. Health teacher sw, & your argument is a distortion of reality.
The CA ED CODE has been changed w/in the past few years to include "sexual orientation" along with GENDER, DATING, MARRIAGE, and FAMILY (see Section 51930) for Health Science.
The newly revised CA ED CODE for Health Science further requires that for any "comprehensive sexual health education earlier than Grade 7" such instruction "must not teach or promote religious doctrine" and "must not reflect or promote bias against any person on the basis of sex, ethnic group identification, race, national origin, religion, color, mental or physical disability, ancestry, gender, or SEXUAL ORIENTATION." (emphasis mine)
Even Section 422.6 of the Penal Code is cited immediately AFTER SEXUAL ORIENTATION (the last criterion cited).
Where were you when the father of a "5" yr old son was ARRESTED for insisting that the school grant him his constitutional right as a parent to receive notification?

"First Graders Taken to San Francisco City Hall for Gay Wedding" The Sacramento Union 10/14/08 Headline reveals how a CA 1st grade class was taken on a tax-funded FIELD TRIP to San Francisco City Hall to witness a GAY MARRIAGE performed by Mayor Gavin Newsom. The school's principal exhibited this same "homosexual hubris" by having the nerve to promulgate this trip was an important "teachable moment" for the children. What then, sw, are they trying to teach if NOT "homosexuality" & why at the tender, age of "5" or "6" years old when VALUES are being shaped/formed & the sole right of PARENTS???
2. Teacher reads 2nd-graders story about "GAY" wedding.
This happened in Massachusetts in 2006 mind you! When parents appealed to the courts, the courts scoffed at the parents & rejected their pleas on constitutional grounds for "religious freedom" or "parental rights" stating the parents had "NO rights to receive notice, or even to remove their own children from instruction about GAY MARRIAGE!" (emphases mine)
3. Prop 8 supporter physically assaulted & seriously injured by a MILITANT GAY ACTIVIST while merely volunteering for Prop. 8 @ his church!
4. My own friend & fellow public h.s. teacher also told me how more MILITANT GAY ACTIVISTS harrassed their church-workers and threatened them for merely volunteering @ the same church that took in all the displaced FIRE victims near Porter Ranch fire, some of which were these same MILITANT GAY ACTIVISTS harrassing/threatening his church!

My LEGAL contention remains VALID as there are "6" CA Courts of Appeal or "appellate courts" while only "1" CA Supreme Court, & Article III, Section 3.5 was put in place to keep ALL branches of our CA Govt., including the Supreme Court, in check when such mischief as this May's "Judicial Review" takes place & we in fact have had NO appellate court in CA prove Prop. 22 or Family Law Code 308.5 to be UNconstitutional!
As far as teaching gay marriage in public schools being "ridiculous" goes, allow me to set the record straight as a tenured teacher for LAUSD with over a decade of experience w/in the CA Public H.S. Classroom teaching the very subject that involves SEX ED, HEALTH ED.
FACT: CA ED CODE (see 51930-51939) was recently CHANGED/CORRUPTED by lesbian CA. Sen. Kuehl's bogus bill known as SB 777 & passed into law by Gov. Schwarzenegger 1/1/08.
FACT: The 2nd purpose of this newly revised CA ED CODE for HEALTH does mandate both "sexual orientation" & "marriage" be taught as part of OCSD!

FACT: CTA has spent, according to CA Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, over $2 MILLION (many from UNION DUES) to prop up NO on Prop. 8!
